THE FUTURE OF STUDENT-DESIGNED ROCKETS.

EXPLORE THE STUDENT ORGANIZATION FOR AEROSPACE RESEARCH

We make aerospace educational, memorable, and inspiring.

We are a student engineering team at the University of Calgary that build solid and hybrid sounding rockets, reaching altitudes between 10,000 and 30,000 feet.

Our Team.

Whether it's in the Canadian cold or New Mexican heat, our teams have pushed through it all to ensure the safe and reliable performance of our rockets.

This image contains a photo of the Soar team holding their rocket, called osprey.

Hybrid Rockets.

We strive to be at the forefront of experimental sounding rocketry by developing Hybrid rocket systems. Our rockets use a liquid oxidizer; Nitrous Oxide and a proprietary solid fuel.

Our Vision.

Partnered with the University of Calgary and our sponsors, we are reaching new heights. By 2027, SOAR aims to be the first Canadian team to launch a two-stage hybrid rocket up to 30,000 ft.

Approaching Student Teams Differently.

From design to manufacturing, we aim to develop creative and novel design solutions. Each year we display, compete and fly our rockets at either Launch Canada or Spaceport America Cup.
